The June 2024 index review results for the ChiNext and ChiNext 50 indices were announced yesterday.
There will be seven changes for the ChiNext index and five changes for the ChiNext 50 index. Some of these names surprised us.

The analysis includes forecasted inclusions and exclusions to all major Asian indices that have significant amount of tracking assets, including estimates of passive buy/sell flow on the stocks. The service also provides commentary and impact of market consultations, ground rule changes, and other events (IPOs, spin-offs, M&A) that could lead to index changes and passive flow.

Periscope Analytics works with multi-strategy hedge funds, proprietary trading firms, stat arb trading groups and long-only investors that invest and trade in the Asia Pacific region with the data being used to trade index rebalances, avoid pre-positioning and passive flow, and to time entry into and exit from stocks.

<li>We correctly forecast 5/7 and 7/7 for the Chinext Index adds/deletes and were 3/5 and 5/5 for the Chinext50 Index adds/deletes.</li>
<li>Based on the estimated passive tracking AUM, the one-way trade across both indices is estimated to be CNY 3.69bn (US$508m).</li>

There are 7 changes for the ChiNext Index (SZ399006 INDEX) and 5 changes for the ChiNext 50 Index at the June rebalance.
We correctly forecast 5/7 and 7/7 for the Chinext Index adds/deletes and were 3/5 and 5/5 for the Chinext50 Index adds/deletes.
Based on the estimated passive tracking AUM, the one-way trade across both indices is estimated to be CNY 3.69bn (US$508m).
