BACKGROUND
I have 20+yrs experience in Asia doing alternative strategies (i.e. non-delta1 non long-only) in fixed income, equity derivatives, and activist/catalyst/event-driven and long-short equity strategies with most of that time spent managing money. 

4 years in fixed income macro, 8 years running internal hedge fund and 4yrs investment banking at Citi in Japan, 3 years running an Asia multi-strat portfolio at a hedge fund, 4+yrs as an independent special situations analyst.

<li>Sony Financial Group (perhaps 8729 JP) will be spun off from SONY on 29 September 2025. The nominal share price will be "low" - likely 4-6% of Sony's price.</li>
<li>Index treatment is largely known with the exception of a market cap trigger to stay in or get the boot from one major global index provider's set of large-midcap indices.</li>
<li>There is a buyback to come which will offset global active manager "I don't want this" overhang. There are technical trades to do here too but overall I am positive.</li>
