Virtual currencies are decentralized, math-based digital assets in which transactions can be performed cryptographically without the need for a central issuing authority. The first specification and proof of concept of Bitcoin, the first widely used virtual currency, was published in 2009 based on a paper published pseudonymously by Satoshi Nakamoto.

Ethereum is an open-source, public, blockchain-based distributed computing platform featuring smart contract (scripting) functionality. It provides a decentralized Turing-complete virtual machine, the Ethereum Virtual Machine (EVM), which can execute scripts using an international network of public nodes. Ethereum also provides a cryptocurrency token called "ether", which can be transferred between accounts and used to compensate participant nodes for computations performed. "Gas", an internal transaction pricing mechanism, is used to mitigate spam and allocate resources on the network.

As of 27th May 2022, LUNA has been rebranded to LUNC (Terra Classic). Terra Classic is a decentralized financial payment network that is rebuilding traditional payment technology on the blockchain. It manages a basket of fiat pegged stablecoins that are algorithmically managed by the protocol via its LUNC Token. In addition, LUNC is used to pay for transaction fees, staking collateral and to vote. Terra Classic is the orginal technology behind Terra 2.0 (LUNA) which is a new crypto asset running on a new Blockchain. Currently, my focus is 100% directed at identifying, investing in, and sharing investment ideas in the crypto asset class as I believe this will the fastest growing space for years to come. 

Although I'm a major believer in the macro thesis of crypto, my research will be bottomsup focused and will breakdown crypto investments into their fundamental components that investors with institutional experiences will be familiar with.
