The likelihood of second and third 'waves' before the widespread availability of mass-testing or vaccinees may require semi-permanent social-distancing for the most vulnerable and prolonged shutdowns of the crowded, noisy indoor venues that attract the most foolhardy. By anticipating the post-COVID protocols, The approach adopted by Taiwan, South Korea, Singapore and Japan offers a better glide-path to economic recovery.
