<p>Extraordinary - or perhaps given the unprecedented events - the NAV discount went from 9.7% at the close of the Offer, to a 16.8% premium as of yesterday.</p>
<p>The implied stub and the simple ratio (Intouch/AIS) have never been at such extreme levels.</p>

There is nothing, to the best of my knowledge, keeping Gulf from buying more shares in the market (not exceeding Bt65/share), although if Gulf's stake clears 50% of shares out, then it would be obligated to make an MTO.</p>

<p>According to <a href="https://www.isranews.org/article/isranews-news/102276-gov-thaicom-concession-news.html" target="_blank" rel="noopener">local news</a> and Bloomberg - and <a href="https://www.smartkarma.com/entities/thaicom-pcl" target="_blank" data-smartkarma-citation="entities:18019:1" rel="noopener">Thaicom Pcl (THCOM TB)</a>'s SET <a href="https://www.set.or.th/set/pdfnews.do?newsId=16310581966210&amp;sequence=0" target="_blank" rel="noopener">filing</a> - Thailand's cabinet has made an order for Intouch to lift its take to at least 51% in Thaicom, from 41.13% currently. </p>
<p>Thaicom's shares jumped 15% on the news yesterday. Intouch gained ~3%.</p>
<p>It's not a lot of money for Intouch, but it's a good opportunity to provide some background on its stake in Thaicom, and potential trade ideas for Intouch.</p>

10% was achieved on the 6 October, making Gulf the second-largest shareholder behind Singtel (ST SP) (21%). 


30-Dec-20

The Offer for Intouch Holdings PCL (INTUCH-R TB) has closed with Gulf Energy Development Public Company (GULF TB) acquiring 23.32%, taking its stake to 42.25%.  Brian Freitas expected (in GULF/INTUCH: Large Tenders Will Result in Big Passive Sell) FTSE to lower Intouch Holdings (INTUCH TB)'s investability weight to 36.75% and MSCI to lower the FIF to 40%. Together, passive funds will need to sell around 84.45m shares (US$161m; 14.5 days of ADV).

Just 2,032 shares tendered into the downstream Offer for AIS.

According to local news and Bloomberg - and Thaicom Pcl (THCOM TB)'s SET filing - Thailand's cabinet has made an order for Intouch to lift its take to at least 51% in Thaicom, from 41.13% currently. 
Thaicom's shares jumped 15% on the news yesterday. Intouch gained ~3%.
It's not a lot of money for Intouch, but it's a good opportunity to provide some background on its stake in Thaicom, and potential trade ideas for Intouch.

The prolonged new wave of COVID-19 led the company to revise down its service revenue growth and EBITDA guidance, which is still in line with our model. We thus leave our forecast unchanged and maintain a Buy rating.</p>

ADVANC delivered in-line core profit in 2Q21, retaining EBITDA growth amidst a weak top line thanks to cost optimization. We expect ADVANC to report 2Q21 net profit at Bt6.2bn (-11%YoY, -6%QoQ) caused by increased networking and amortization costs.• We expect 2Q21 revenue at Bt44.6bn, (+6%YoY, -3%QoQ), with 43.4 million mobile service subscribers (+4%YoY,+3%QoQ), at the expense of weakening ARPU.• We foresee mobile prepaid and postpaid ARPU to continue tumbling to Bt145 (-7%YoY, -4%QoQ) and Bt475 (-9.1%YoY, -1.0%QoQ), respectively, from a prolonged intensive price war.• We expect earnings momentum to recover in 3Q21, as the company offers the cheapest subscription prices to the widely anticipated Disney Plus streaming service, as well as new lockdown policies that encourage further internet use.• We also expect earnings to peak in 4Q21  driven by growing handheld device sales that support 5G and net additional subscribers.
