Baptista Research is an independent financial research house focused on the U.S. markets. We provide equity research as well as credit research reports on the top-listed U.S. companies with most of our focus on technology, consumer goods and services, automobiles, industrials, oil and gas, pharma, and healthcare. Baptista Research is owned and managed by Ishan Majumdar, an ex-Venture Capitalist/ Investment Banker, a Chartered Accountant, and a Masters’ degree holder in Management from HEC Paris. Ishan has nearly a decade of experience in Mergers and Acquisitions, Leveraged Buyouts (LBOs), Venture Capital Investing, Corporate Strategy, and Valuation in front-office roles at the likes of BNP Paribas CIB, Credit Agricole CIB, Groupe Danone, and TIW Private Equity. He has worked on and closed multiple acquisition deals, leveraged buyouts, and start-up investment transactions.

Short-term outperformance and constructive consolidation/bottoming patterns are evident within biotech (IBB, XBI), small- and micro-caps (IWM, IWC), and emerging markets (EEM). This only adds to our positive outlook for the weeks and months ahead; continue to buy pullbacks.

In this note, we share our latest on the ground checks on <a href="https://www.smartkarma.com/entities/tesla-motors-inc" target="_blank" data-smartkarma-citation="entities:20279:1" rel="noopener">Tesla Motors (TSLA US)</a> China this month.   We believe that both the GF3 production progress and local demand for MIC M3 are over-hyped.  Chinese brokers  and funds have played a role in rallying the expectations, possibly aiming at promoting the stocks relating to TSLA supply chain locally (very little as of today in fact).  A funny, true story is that a Chinese PCB maker Olympic Circuit Tech which is listed on the mainland stock market was halted trading for three days this week (10% price movement triggers trading suspension in mainland China) caused by a broad, nearly week-long rally in TSLA supplier stocks.  On the fourth day, Olympic Circuit officially announced that it is not designed or used in MIC M3, but that didn’t stop the rally.
