Baptista Research is owned and managed by Ishan Majumdar, an ex-Venture Capitalist/ Investment Banker, a Chartered Accountant, and a Masters’ degree holder in Management from HEC Paris. Ishan has nearly a decade of experience in Mergers and Acquisitions, Leveraged Buyouts (LBOs), Venture Capital Investing, Corporate Strategy, and Valuation in front-office roles at the likes of BNP Paribas CIB, Credit Agricole CIB, Groupe Danone, and TIW Private Equity. In last week’s Compass we noted the S&amp;P 500 was near the top end of the uptrend channel and that the index could fall 2.75%-3.25% before we get to uptrend support. Considering the S&amp;P 500 fell roughly 1% last week we believe the recent pause appears to be a normal and healthy pullback within the multi-month uptrend. Despite the potential for additional backing-and-filling toward the uptrend support, our expectation is that this uptrend continues, supporting our overall positive outlook.
