We cover all listing across the Asia Pacific along with follow-up placements. As of Dec 2020, our team had covered 539 IPOs with a hit rate of 73.5% and 685 placements with a hit rate of 66.8%.

We combine fundamental bottom-up views with our proprietary quantitative framework to provide a holistic coverage across new listings and placements. Our coverage includes pre-IPO notes before the deal is launched, follow-up analysis once the deal is live and post-listing trading analysis as well.

Quantitative Analysis

<li>We analyzed the changes in short interest of KRX stocks as of Aug 15th. The aggregated short interest was USD10.3bn.</li>
<li>We tabulate league tables for top short by value and short as multiple of ADT, as well as weekly increases &amp; decreases in short value, short as multiple of ADT.</li>
<li>We highlight short interest changes in SamsungF&amp;MIns, Samsung SDI, SK Hynix, LG H&amp;H, Kakao.</li>

<li>Some alpha generating performances continue in terms of adding stocks to be included in the KOSPI 200 and reducing stocks that could be excluded.</li>
<li>Korea Value Up Index has been heavily promoted by the Korean Exchange this year. Korea Exchange plans to make special changes to the Korea Value-Up Index constituents on 20 December. </li>

In this insight, we review the major equity indices in Korea in 2024 including KOSPI 200 and Korea Value Up Index. 
Some alpha generating performances continue in terms of adding stocks to be included in the KOSPI 200 and reducing stocks that could be excluded.
Korea Value Up Index has been heavily promoted by the Korean Exchange this year. Korea Exchange plans to make special changes to the Korea Value-Up Index constituents on 20 December.

The analysis includes forecasted inclusions and exclusions to all major Asian indices that have significant amount of tracking assets, including estimates of passive buy/sell flow on the stocks. <li>We see 7 migrations from MidCap to LargeCap, 1 new addition to LargeCap, 12 stocks moving from SmallCap to MidCap and 3 new additions to MidCap.</li>
<li>The upward migrations have underperformed the downward migrations over the last month as a few stocks have sold off hard. Some despite being included in global indices.</li>
</ul>
