That is the one regarding the effects of its losses on its balance sheet, and the fact that it finished the year with negative equity. That means something. It was a quasi-inevitability in this case.Normally, the news would be out already because their Annual Securities Report (yukashoken hokokusho (有価証券報告書)) would be out the day of the Annual Shareholder Meeting, which took place on June 25th. However, on the 25th the company <a href="https://www.chiyodacorp.com/%E6%9C%89%E4%BE%A1%E8%A8%BC%E5%88%B8%E5%A0%B1%E5%91%8A%E6%9B%B8%E3%81%AE%E6%8F%90%E5%87%BA%E4%BA%88%E5%AE%9A%E6%97%A5%E3%81%AB%E9%96%A2%E3%81%97%E3%81%A6_20190625.pdf" target="_blank" rel="noopener">announced</a> (Japanese only) that they would delay the submission of their Annual Securities Report (yuho) until June 28th because of the announcement of a lawsuit filed by a former employee overseas (lawsuit was filed 11 June). The delayed filing should come out tomorrow.And that's when the official fireworks begin - when the TSE gets involved.

</div>RESILIENCE - Japanese equities have risen by 2.9% since the low of 4th June. In US dollar terms, the gain is 3.7%. Over the last two weeks, the gains are 0.7% and 1.6%, respectively. For the previous twelve months, the equity market has moved in almost perfect 'sync' with the US dollar/Japanese Yen exchange rate. This month's divergence is unusual, and it remains to be seen when, how, and if the gap will be closed. The cross rate is within ¥2.6 of the high points of the last two years. </div>INAUSPICIOUS - Since the beginning of the Reiwa era (令和時代), Japanese equities have fallen by 6.1% and have seen only six 'up' days out of the nineteen trading days so far. The strength of the Yen has cut that decline to -3.2% for the minority of foreign investors that are unhedged. The Bank of Japan has purchased ETFs on ten days in the new era including on each of the last three trading sessions - the largest such intervention this calendar year.  Having reached a new five-month low, a decisive low above that of December 25th is required. The market took only two trading days to descend from the current level to that 2018 low, and a fall of 6.7% from Friday's close would breach that level. SOUTHBOUND - The upside we anticipated two weeks ago turned out to be only ¥6t before the harsh realities of some weak macro data intervened and sent the market 3% lower over the last two trading days suggesting the bear market rally is now over. 'Extreme' values are weighted sums greater than 100% and less than -100%. We would caution that this indicator is best used for timing shorter-term reversals and, in many cases, higher highs and lower lows will be seen. <div class="content-highlight">

Our most extreme positive outlier two weeks ago, <a href="https://www.smartkarma.com/entities/26181" target="_blank" data-smartkarma-citation="entities:26181:1">Pksha Technology (3993 JP)</a> declined by 8% and 'tops' our most negative two-week change list, while the most negative outlier <a href="https://www.smartkarma.com/entities/24540" target="_blank" data-smartkarma-citation="entities:24540:1">SanBio (4592 JP)</a> rose by 3%. <a href="https://www.smartkarma.com/entities/8244" target="_blank" data-smartkarma-citation="entities:8244:1">Leopalace21 (8848 JP)</a> which was also featured recovered by 9%.
<a href="https://www.smartkarma.com/entities/2709" target="_blank" data-smartkarma-citation="entities:2709:1">AnGes (4563 JP)</a> is currently the most extreme large cap positive outlier having peaked at '492' on 26th February up from a 'trough' of -132 in December. Biotechnology peer <a href="https://www.smartkarma.com/entities/24540" target="_blank" data-smartkarma-citation="entities:24540:1">SanBio (4592 JP)</a> is, for the third time this year, the most extreme negative outlier, having topped the 13th January and 24th February positive outlier lists and is another 'round-tripper'.

Our most extreme positive outlier two weeks ago, Pksha Technology (3993 JP) declined by 8% and 'tops' our most negative two-week change list, while the most negative outlier SanBio (4592 JP) rose by 3%. Leopalace21 (8848 JP) which was also featured recovered by 9%.
AnGes (4563 JP) is currently the most extreme large cap positive outlier having peaked at '492' on 26th February up from a 'trough' of -132 in December. Biotechnology peer SanBio (4592 JP) is, for the third time this year, the most extreme negative outlier, having topped the 13th January and 24th February positive outlier lists and is another 'round-tripper'.

</div>LIQUIDITY RULES - Despite the continuous stream of negative macroeconomic news from Japan and other economies, financial liquidity trends are the strongest in over two years, and much of this 'boom' is flowing into risk assets. Large-scale repatriation of offshore funds by US companies has also helped boost the US dollar against the yen. The Market Composite responded by rising 2.3% over the last two weeks, although only by 1% in US dollar terms.WEAK MACRO - Net exports and higher inventories offset private investment and consumption during the fourth quarter, resulting in flat GDP growth year-on-year. January industrial production fell to the lowest level in 30 months, and, with the manufacturing PMI nearing 50, the prospect is for further weakness this quarter. Inventories continue to rise and, in North Asia, to levels last seen in 2005.
