<ul><li>The NBA, and NBPA (National Basketball Player’s Association) have signed a multi year deal with Sorare, to create the basketball league’s first NFT fantasy game.</li><li>Before we talk about the NBA’s ventures into Web3, let’s remind ourselves of just how well Sorare have done over the past three years.</li><li>Sorare, who started as an NFT Soccer fantasy game, have raised incredible sums of money including a $50m Series A which broke french tech records, followed by a $680m Series B raise led by none other than Softbank.</li></ul>

<ul><li>The last couple of newsletters have focused on news stories and Sporting Crypto will always explore them in a deep and insightful way.</li><li>This week, however, I want to think slightly laterally. <em><strong>‘What if?’</strong></em> has become something I’ve heard a lot in crypto more broadly But I think it’s very important this question is asked especially when it comes to Sports x Web3.</li><li>There are so few good examples of Web3 x Sports — that sometimes, this is what it takes to try and explain to stakeholders and the uninitiated what is going on here.</li></ul>
