<li>NTT announced a buyback in May as discussed in <a href="https://www.smartkarma.com/insights/ntt-9432-salutary-earnings-salutary-buyback-more-to-go" target="_blank" data-smartkarma-citation="insights:69873" rel="noopener">NTT (9432) - Salutary Earnings Salutary Buyback, More to Go</a>, via ToSTNeT-3 to buy a chunk of the govt's stake. </li>
<li>That will be <a href="https://group.ntt/en/newsrelease/2022/09/14/220914a.html" target="_blank" rel="noopener">executed</a> by ToSTNeT-3 buyback pre-open tomorrow, with a bid of 103.1725mm shares at ¥3,877. A separate report suggests the Ministry of Finance will sell 92mm shares.</li>
<li>It is like a mini tender offer so if you want to sell a large chunk of shares, you can. But I wouldn't. </li>

That will be executed by ToSTNeT-3 buyback pre-open tomorrow, with a bid of 103.1725mm shares at ¥3,877. A separate report suggests the Ministry of Finance will sell 92mm shares.
It is like a mini tender offer so if you want to sell a large chunk of shares, you can. But I wouldn't. 


NTT (9432) Buyback Has Come - But NTT Is Gonna Grind Out Better EPS So I'd Keep It

<li>The Nikkei 225 Annual Review is in September based on end-July data. Jumping the gun, I propose 3 additions and 3 deletions with granular data and details offered per sector.</li>
<li>I see ¥600bn to buy and a funding trade of 99% of that. There are 15+ names with more than 1 day of ADV to sell (funding only).</li>
<li>The impact on Real World Float is non-negligible. One name in particular is deserving of attention. </li>
</ul>

<li>Since Toshiba reported lacklustre earnings and guidance, there has been a steady flow of articles in the press about the privatisation process going on behind the scenes.</li>
<li>On 25 March, Toshiba let it be known a privatisation process would start. On 31 March, Bain gave notice it would participate. Toshiba has been in talks since 21 April</li>
<li>First round bids were due 30 May, and 10 total submissions were made, with 8 privatisation proposals proffered. Now we wait...</li>

Toshiba (6502) - Now We Have the First Rounds Bids In, And We Wait, But It's Top of Range

<li>But it is still positive. It is something of a win-win for both parties.</li>
