Equity Bottom-Up

Kmc Kuei Meng International / Equity Bottom-Up

KMC Kuei Meng International, Inc. manufactures and sells bicycle chains, accessories and parts.

Dominant Global Chain Market Hegemony: KMC Kuei Meng International (5306 TT) is the undisputed global market leader in bicycle chains, controlling an estimated 70% to 80% global volume share across OEM and aftermarket (AM) channels. Its entrenched scale, advanced metallurgy, and universal compatibility across all major drivetrain standards (Shimano, SRAM, Campagnolo) establish an exceptionally wide economic moat.

Post-Destocking Earnings Inflection and Margin Accretion: Following the severe post-pandemic supply chain inventory destocking cycle in 2022–2023, KMC has demonstrated decisive earnings recovery. Gross margins expanded from 35.58% in 2023 to 40.90% in 2025 and remained near ~40% through 1H 2026, driven by higher-ASP 12-speed and e-bike specific chain platforms.

Compelling Valuation with Resilient Cash Return: At the last price of TWD 89.10, KMC trades at an attractive ~11.6x P/E and ~1.5x P/B, representing a notable discount to downstream bicycle assemblers and component peers. Backed by a pristine net-cash balance sheet, low maintenance capex, and robust free cash flow conversion, KMC supports a sustainable quarterly dividend yielding 4.2%.
