As all companies are thus on a comparable scale, 'Overbought' and 'Oversold' outliers and changes in scoring can reveal short-term and longer-term trading opportunities. Company outlier thresholds are set at<strong> +4</strong> &amp; <strong>-2</strong> and equate to the top and bottom first-to-second percentiles of historical observations from which mean reversion takes a matter of months. Since July 22nd, 1,216 or 32% of companies have reported results and 292 forecast revisions have been announced. The Japan Analytics Results &amp; Revision Score reached a new 28-month low on Friday of 1.43, a decline of 78% from the current cycle peak of 6.50 on 16th November 2017. The two Forecast/Revision Scores are, as would be expected., leading indicators for the Results Score. The current quarter's Results Scor decline already exceeds the previous quarter's more-benign decline which also saw an increase in the Annual Forecast/Revision Score as the majority of companies 'rolled' their forecast ahead by one year. In contrast, the forecasts for the Interim period which for most companies ends next month were the most pessimistic since April 2016 and the mostly first-quarter results are confirming the early caution. Our All-Market-Composite fell by 16.1%, only three sectors - <strong>REITs</strong>, <strong>Utilities</strong> and <strong>Telecoms</strong> - rose and four sectors - <strong>Metals</strong>, <strong>Building Materials</strong>, <strong>Technology Hardware</strong> and <strong>Machinery</strong> - fell by more than 30%. All of the sixteen outperforming sectors are domestically-orientated, and only two -<strong> Other Commercial Products</strong> and<strong> Other Consumer Products</strong> are manufacturing sectors. With no end in sight to the Bank of Japan's accommodation, interest rates remained at historically-depressed levels and provided no respite to financial sectors. <strong>Construction</strong> and <strong>Building Materials</strong> declined as the pre-Olympic construction order cycle peaked out, although <strong>Real Estate</strong> outperformed as office vacancy rates and rents reached three-decade new lows and new highs, respectively.
