<li>We continued to observed outperformance post the HSCI announcement but not the actual inclusion despite the fact that southbound inflows has a significant impact on the trading volume. </li>

The largest inflows were into Hang Seng H Share Index (2828 HK) and Wuxi Biologics (2269 HK). The largest outflows were in Geely (175 HK) and AIA Group (1299 HK).

<li>Good pipeline should support growth for the next two years as projects under construction/planning accounted for 54% of the existing capacity in Aug.</li>
<li>Canvest's expectation that gearing has peaked suggests that it will start deleverage in next year. This is a positive message in an industry traditionally with weak cashflow.</li>

The analysis includes forecasted inclusions and exclusions to all major Asian indices that have significant amount of tracking assets, including estimates of passive buy/sell flow on the stocks. The service also provides commentary and impact of market consultations, ground rule changes, and other events (IPOs, spin-offs, M&A) that could lead to index changes and passive flow.

Periscope Analytics works with multi-strategy hedge funds, proprietary trading firms, stat arb trading groups and long-only investors that invest and trade in the Asia Pacific region with the data being used to trade index rebalances, avoid pre-positioning and passive flow, and to time entry into and exit from stocks.

<li>19 of the 24 HSCI inclusions will be added to Southbound Stock Connect, while 12 of the 14 HSCI deletions will be removed from Southbound Stock Connect.</li>
<li>Five of the HSCI constituents could be removed from Southbound Stock Connect only since the average market cap over the last year is less than HK$5bn.</li>
</ul>
