Our process begins by organizing the universe of actively traded stocks into discrete sectors, then into industry groups. We then apply our technical and quantitative tools to identify developing price trends. Once attractive trends are identified within a selected sector or group, we screen for individual stocks which we believe offer the best risk/reward profile. We provide a historical perspective that often reveals, through our long-term charts, how price patterns often repeat themselves over time.

<li>The duo of Brookfield and Atlassian/Australian billionaire Mike Cannon-Brookes has apparently lobbed a higher offer for <a href="https://www.smartkarma.com/entities/agl-energy-ltd" target="_blank" data-smartkarma-citation="entities:554:1" rel="noopener">AGL Energy Ltd (AGL AU)</a> and AGL has apparently rejected it.</li>
<li>Confirmation from AGL is due tomorrow but given the previous bid was "ridiculously low", "extremely undervalued" the company, and had "unserious" elements, expect the language to be similar.</li>
<li>Next steps probably mean waiting for the De-Merger Circular due April but possibly May. In the meantime, this probably trades in a range.</li>

<li>Investors are pressing Siemens Energy (67% owner of <a href="https://www.smartkarma.com/entities/siemens-gamesa-renewable-energy-s-a" target="_blank" data-smartkarma-citation="entities:21270:1" rel="noopener">Siemens Gamesa Renewable Energy, S.A. (SGRE SM)</a>)  to act in the wake of a downwards sliding share price.</li>
<li>DFC valuation (WACC 7.5%, 5y EV/EBITDA exit multiple of 5.5x, which conservatively implies no growth rate, which I consider adequate in a low visibility environment) gives a fair value of €16.4/share. </li>
<li>An exclusion bid could be on the cards, and the premium need not be high, 20% could be enough, but that would still amount to c. €3.7 billion.</li>

<li>Naturgy is trading at 10.1x EV/2021a EBITDA and at a demanding 21.9x P/E, higher than Iberdrola SA (IBE SM)'s 16.3x and Endesa SA (ELE SM)'s 11.5x.</li>
<li>Strategies: pair trades long REE SM/short NTGY SM or long ENG SM/short NTGY SM. Risk: this strategy assumes that both CriteriaCaixa and IFM will stop acquiring shares of Naturgy.</li>

<li>Recommendation is Long PNM US, underpinned by stand-alone comparables based valuation and a 2.9% dividend yield. There is the possibility of further upside coming from a sweetening of the offer price.</li>
