We have a call to sell risk at the top of the SPX wedge near 3,860 for a pullback and see the DJI as the weakest link that would break support and spearhead an SPX pullback. USD is geared for follow through strength concentrated in EM, Asia and the Euro.Bet was to short the DJI above 31k (met) as the weaker link and Underperform vs the SPX. The next bet to short was the Russell near 2,190 (met) for a test on the 2,000 pivot support.SPX near pivot lies at 3,815 and the bigger wedge and pattern pivot level at 3,750 that would usher in a correction.

We do have an overshoot range toward the top of the rising wedge noted in the daily cycle chart with lower wedge support the pivot level. We have touted putting on short protection in Europe and weaker parts of Asia as well as top picking in the Russell 2000 (rising bear wedge).Our sequence calls for a near term peak in risk, low in the USD inducing an equity pullback into late December (risk of snowballing) to set up a buy for a rise into late January where another risk event is expected.

In last Tuesday’s Compass (10/27/20) we noted the S&amp;P 500’s break below 3425 short-term support opened the door for potential visits to 3325 and 3200. Base case calls for buying US equities at sub DJI 28k, SPX 3,410 and NDX 11,600-500 while allowing for some noise to base and stage a fresh up cycle. Do not want to trade for any length of time below SPX 3,400 to hold longs. Asia long levels on a dip given odds the US ranges into the election barring a stimulus package announcement.Europe remains weak with a bias to short rally attempts as the short pair/long US.In Asia we have liked being long A shares, Australia, H shares and now see potential to work into a long in the Philippines. Top shorts are HSI, STI, KLSE. Taiwan and Korea are transitioning into the bull camp on a pullback to position for a break above key highs with new high projections noted.
