<li>Without access to the article, I can't go deep, but the base concept is that NTT Docomo is "worried" about KDDI (which has a bank, as does Softbank Corp)</li>
<li>It is not clear how serious it is, SBI Sumishin is super-expensive, and buying a bank isn't the same as buying a company. Hmmm...</li>

An article in Japanese weekly magazine Bunshun this morning sent shares inSBI Sumishin Net Bank (7163 JP) limit up +17% with a headline that NTT Docomo was interested to buy.
Without access to the article, I can't go deep, but the base concept is that NTT Docomo is "worried" about KDDI (which has a bank, as does Softbank Corp)
It is not clear how serious it is, SBI Sumishin is super-expensive, and buying a bank isn't the same as buying a company. Hmmm...

<li>After the market close on 14 November, SBI Fintech Solutions announced that the Japanese financial group SBI is pushing for a tender offer and delisting of SBI Fintech Solutions.</li>
<li>The tender offer price is 5,000 won per share, which is 36% higher than the closing price on 14 November. The tender offer size amount is about 26 billion won.</li>
<li>Given the relatively solid upside, we believe SBI Holdings is likely to successfully complete this tender offer and take the company private. </li>

After the market close on 14 November, SBI Fintech Solutions announced that the Japanese financial group SBI is pushing for a tender offer and delisting of SBI Fintech Solutions.
The tender offer price is 5,000 won per share, which is 36% higher than the closing price on 14 November. The tender offer size amount is about 26 billion won.
Given the relatively solid upside, we believe SBI Holdings is likely to successfully complete this tender offer and take the company private.

<li>A Bloomberg <a href="https://www.bloomberg.com/news/articles/2024-11-06/seven-i-is-said-to-plan-reducing-stake-in-banking-unit-to-38" target="_blank" rel="noopener">article</a> yesterday suggested <a href="https://www.smartkarma.com/entities/seven-i-holdings-co-ltd" target="_blank" data-smartkarma-citation="entities:1041:1" rel="noopener">Seven &amp; I Holdings (3382 JP)</a> was considering selling down its stake in <a href="https://www.smartkarma.com/entities/seven-bank-ltd" target="_blank" data-smartkarma-citation="entities:16063:1" rel="noopener">Seven Bank Ltd (8410 JP)</a> to 38%, potentially raising ¥30bn by end-February.</li>
<li>There is a clear and obvious reason for this which has nothing to do, <em>directly</em>, with the Couche-Tard approach. And nothing to do with raising ¥30bn. </li>
<li>But it is an important step on the path to "value realisation", and focussing on CVS, albeit for technical reasons.</li>

A Bloomberg article yesterday suggested Seven &amp; I Holdings (3382 JP) was considering selling down its stake in Seven Bank Ltd (8410 JP) to 38%, potentially raising ¥30bn by end-February.
There is a clear and obvious reason for this which has nothing to do, directly, with the Couche-Tard approach. And nothing to do with raising ¥30bn. 
But it is an important step on the path to "value realisation", and focussing on CVS, albeit for technical reasons.
