<ul><li>U.S. interest rates have been climbing since early January 2024 after reaching their lowest points between December 27th and January 11th.</li><li>For example, the yield on 2-year Treasury bonds has increased by 52 basis points (bps), and the yield on 10-year bonds has risen by 49 bps since their respective lows.</li><li>Similarly, the Dollar Index (DXY), which measures the value of the U.S. dollar against a basket of other currencies, experienced its weakest point on December 28th, 2023.</li></ul>

<ul><li>FX Market Update—The USD ended 2023 on a soft note, but a little off the low made on December 28th which was the lowest the DXY traded at since July.</li><li>Overall, the DXY registered a down year in 2023, losing around 4% overall after two years of solid gains.</li><li>The holiday period has been relatively quiet. <ul><li>During the period under consideration, i.e. November 15th to December 15th, 2023, the EUR/USD exchange rate fluctuated between 1,084 and 1,095 in the initial period until November 27th, 2023.</li><li>After reaching 1,099 on November 28th, the exchange rate followed an immediate downtrend until the 11th of December (except for one session), although it remained higher than the levels seen at the beginning of November.</li><li>Conversely on December 12th, the pair recorded an ascent, finally settling at 1.0894.</li></ul>
