EQD: Weekly Nikkei Volatility Update (Jan 24th – Jan 31st)

<ul><li>Strong data from Japan Imports (+1.8%) and Exports (+2.8%). BOJ raised its target rate from 0.25% to 0.50% on strong inflation data.</li><li>Manufacturing activity is slowing down.</li><li>Japan Exports came out better than expected at +2.8% vs. 2.4% (survey) whereas the Imports were lower than survey at +1.8% vs. an expected 3.2%.</li></ul>
