Galliano's Financials Research provides fundamental research in Emerging Markets financials, including FinTech, as well as financials in select Developed Markets.

The investment style applied is generally value oriented, although Growth At Reasonable Price (GARP) strategies can also be used where appropriate. 

Our investment research approach aim is often contrarian, looking to capitalise on overly sceptical or optimistic consensus views. In terms of valuation techniques, the focus is on PBV ratio to ROE, PE multiples and dividend yield, as well as the application of PEG ratios and, where appropriate, Sum of the Parts (SOTP) valuations.

<li>Vision Fund II private companies accounted for 87% of the fund’s 3QFY22 fair value; versus investment cost, private companies’ downward valuation revisions have been more modest than the public companies</li>
<li>Vision Fund II accounted for 22% of the group’s 3QFY22 equity value of holdings, so any further downward valuation revisions would hurt group NAV and add to Masa’s Softbank liabilities</li>
<li>Softbank currently trades at a 42% discount to its stated NAV; we believe that the stated NAV is likely to be overstated, with private company valuations needing further scrutiny</li>
