  • Xiaomi Corp. has launched its latest flagship smartphone lineup, the Xiaomi 17, in a direct challenge to Apple Inc., adopting a naming strategy and design that closely mirrors the U.S. tech giant’s latest iPhone.
  • At a launch event held Sept. 25, the Chinese electronics maker introduced the Xiaomi 17, 17 Pro and 17 Pro Max, skipping 16 in its series to align with Apple’s recently released iPhone 17 lineup. The new models feature a rear camera layout, screen dimensions and back panel aesthetics that bear a strong resemblance to Apple’s newest devices.
  • Xiaomi also introduced a magnetic power bank compatible with all iPhone 17 models. “We do what the iPhone doesn’t,” founder and CEO Lei Jun said at the launch event.
